I’m not completely sure this is a serpentine, however it has coloring like a serpentine rock. It is definitely metamorphic and has beautiful quartz lines cutting through it. The variety of greens in this rock is stunning and the texture and patterns are engaging.

The name serpentine can refer to a specific type of rock, however I have found that it is also used for a catch all name for many metamorphic green rocks. Serpentines are ultramafic metamorphic rocks and contain a wide range of rich green colors.
