The dark black biotite mica around the outside of the large pink grains of potassium feldspar reminds me of a salmon fillet.  The look is further enhanced by the marbling of the white quartz which looks like the fat that seeps out when salmon is grilled.

Rock type: Pegmatite

This pegmatite sample is dominated by large potassium feldspar grains (pink) interspersed with white quartz and surrounded by large dark black biotite mica layers on the top and bottom.  The contrast of these three colors created a beautiful specimen with intriguing shape, color and character.

Biotite mica chemical composition: K(Mg,Fe)3AlSi3O10(F,OH)2 (approximate formula)

Potassium feldspar chemical composition: Most likely orthoclase KAlSi3O8
